Judicial Vacancies in the Tenth Judicial District
Today, the Commission on Judicial Selection announced two vacancies in Minnesota’s Tenth Judicial District. The vacancies will occur upon the retirement of the Honorable Krista K. Martin and the Honorable Amy R. Brosnahan. These seats will be chambered in Mora in Kanabec County and Cambridge in Isanti County. MABL's Statement Regarding Four Recent Criminal Cases
The Minnesota Association of Black Lawyers (MABL) stands with the families of the victims, Jacob Blake, Joseph Rosenbaum, Anthony Huber, Gaigev Grosskreutz, Ahmaud Arbery, George Floyd, and Daunte Wright. Each one of the shootings was preventable. The failure of police officers to protect Black citizens and allies protesting injustice, is a damning indictment of our system of law enforcement. Remaking America into a House of Equality
In September 2020, Attorney at Law Magazine partnered with the Minnesota Association of Black Lawyers (MABL) to host a panel discussion with representatives from seven Minnesota bar organizations, moderated by the Honorable JaPaul J. Harris. The purpose of this discussion was to give a voice to affinity bars in the wake of recent tragedies — including the murders of George Floyd, Breonna Taylor, Ahmaud Arbery, Philando Castile, and others.
