Demitrea Kelley
Student Director
Demitrea Kelley is a legal professional committed to advancing racial justice, health equity, and access to civil legal services. She will earn her Juris Doctor from Mitchell Hamline School of Law, where she completed certificates in Health Law, Healthcare Compliance, and Dispute Resolution. Demitrea currently serves as a Diversity Outreach Advocate at Mid-Minnesota Legal Aid, where she works to strengthen community partnerships and expand access to legal resources for underserved populations.
She also leads the Navigator Coalition, a statewide collaborative of over 35 healthcare organizations focused on culturally responsive care and serves as Co-Founder and CEO of the Mikayla Sarai Foundation, a nonprofit dedicated to supporting individuals and families affected by sickle cell disease.
Demitrea’s legal interests include health law, public interest law, and civil rights. She is a certified mediator under Rule 114 in Minnesota and is passionate about leveraging the law to drive systemic change. Through her work, she brings a deep commitment to equity, advocacy, and community empowerment to MABL.
