Greetings! I am thrilled to be the President of the Minnesota Association of Black Lawyers (MABL) for the 2011-2012 year and am so grateful to be working with such an impressive MABL Board of Directors. Ever since I joined MABL during law school, I have found it to be a welcoming and supportive environment for law students and lawyers in our legal community. I hope to contribute to and enhance that same environment for the year to come.
This year, the MABL Board will focus its energy on increasing MABL membership in order to reach and support as many of our Minnesota colleagues as possible. Additionally, MABL will stay involved in the legal community by hosting social and networking events, such as the Annual MABL Scholarship Gala and the Legacy Lounge, and stay involved in the larger community by hosting volunteer opportunities, such as 100 Strong – a collaborative effort with Minneapolis-area high schools to mentor inner-city youth. Please visit the website to learn of any news and events to look forward to from MABL.
Finally, MABL exists to support and promote its members, so please do not hesitate to contact me or the other Board members with any suggestions as to how to make MABL better – this is your organization!
