The Minnesota Association of Black Lawyers (MABL) is the leading minority bar association whose mission is to promote and support the professional development of Black lawyers, judges, and law students in Minnesota. To this end, MABL is committed to the overall goal of representing the interests of Black citizens and their community in the legal profession and in the judicial system throughout the state.
MABL is in Region VIII of the XII regions of the National Bar Association (“NBA”). The NBA is the nation’s oldest and largest national association of predominately African-American lawyers and judges. It has 84 affiliate chapters throughout the United States and affiliations in Canada, the United Kingdom, Africa and the Caribbean. It represents a professional network of over 20,000 lawyers, judges, educators and law students. Read the Regional Newsletter.
Through its MABL Foundation, the organization annually selects talented law students throughout Minnesota to receive scholarships. These select individuals have to demonstrate outstanding academic achievement, commitment to addressing issues affecting their community, and potential to effectuate the overall goals of the organization.
