On November 8, the MABL Foundation held its annual Scholarship Gala at the Marriott City Center. The event was well attended, and the Foundation issued five scholarships to very deserving students with high academic credentials and impressive extracurricular activities: Quiana Montgomery from the Hamline University School of Law was awarded the Judge Pamela Alexander scholarship. Also from Hamline, Nkechi Eccles-James took home the Judge Michael J. Davis scholarship, while Alisha Scott, snagged the William E. McGee scholarship. From the University of St. Thomas, Uzodima aba-Uno received a MABL scholarship, as did Loretta Lucas from the William Mitchell College of Law. Congratulations to all the recipients for their hard work and well deserved scholarships!
The keynote speaker, Randall Robinson, was thought provoking and inspirational, coming all the way from St. Kitts to celebrate this year’s historic presidential election. He shared his personal history, his admonitions, and his joys as we move forward in this amazing time in our country’s history.
